The 10"-12" Jack Russell Terrier
The Jack Russell Terrier Society and it's aims................................
To promote the welfare, health, temprement and function of the breed above all other factors, too many breeds have lost their vitality and ability to do the original job they were bred for. The JRTSUK are working tirelessly to encourage breeders to health test their breeding stock and to keep together old original english lines which have been noted for years to be one of the healthiest breeds in the UK, the JRTSUK would like to keep the breed this way. We have a breed standard as a basis to describe how a terrier is built, conformation though will never be put above the health of the breed. Any judge who judges at a JRTSUK event will be a working terrier judge.

Carry out our work in a professional manner. The JRTSUK will be structured accordingly, having a constitution, having a bank account, an annual general meeting and a democratically elected committee. We will always act within these parameters and strive for trusting relations with members and associates of the Jack Russell Terrier Society of the UK. Any money(ies) that are made from memberships, registrations or sale of merchandise by the JRTSUK will be put forward into the running of the JRTSUK and towards holding future events. All JRTSUK appointed officers and committee will serve on a voluntary basis.

Areas where support will be made available to members are; breeding Jack Russell Terriers, the working aspects of a Jack Russell Terrier and the law on working terriers, promotion of the breed and other positive aspects related to the Jack Russell Terrier and it's overall welfare.

Educate and assist present and future Jack Russell Terrier Fanciers. The JRTSUK will always have a member available who can deal with any questions you may have.
Support and advice will be made available to assist in the eradication or limitations of diseases and faults associated with the Jack Russell Terrier as a breed.

To encourage JRTSUK membership involvement and participation via news letters, and taking into account any constructive ideas provided by members as they see fit.

We will also promote and support our own events and other competitions in the show arena for all Jack Russell Terriers regardless of where they are registered.

The JRTSUK is not all about breeding, it is a place where people can meet others who also love the breed, we accept dogs for registration with JRTSUK even if they are speyed/neutered family companions because at the end of the day the JRTSUK is about the breed and promoting a healthy Jack Russell Terrier and responsible ownership.
Neutered/speyed Jack Russells can still compete in JRTSUK events if registered with us and you as a member will be warmly welcomed as part of the JRTSUK community.
